New Music: 50 Cent – Whad Up Gangsta Pt. 2

by DG

You see those braids with the baby front and center? Those are the reason this happened. Those cornrows made fif think it was ok to remake a classic like this. Smh. Pray for the hands of his barber.

Magazine: 50 Cent & His Money Team Cohort Cover XXL

by DG

XXL’s double, year-end December/January 2012 issue features five special covers celebrating the 5 Faces of 50 Cent in honor of the superstar’s fifth album and an EP coming this January.

2012 marks 10 years since Fif took over the mixtape game with the release of 50 Cent is the Future. Over the past decade, the superstar rapper has expanded his brand further than the average hip-hop artist and the different covers honor the five hats 50 juggles: The rapper, the actor, the businessman, the philanthropist and the bad guy, the latter cover which he shares with good friend and current Welterweight Boxing Champion Floyd Mayweather.

In the cover story, 50 analyzes the current music climate: “I don’t see what I fell in love with,” he says. “So now I gotta make music that reflects what N.W.A made. I have to make music that has the moments that Nas had. I have to make music that has what Biggie offered.” He also discusses his currently untitled fifth solo album: “For me, I’m still up against what I’ve done,” he says. “So in order to top it, I know it’s a difficult task. You know, I see the bloggers. My audience hasn’t grown with me. They keep saying, “Aw, man, I want the old 50!” ’Cause those people, it would take them on a safari. I was bringing them close enough to the animals, without being able to get hurt. I was taking them into my neighborhood, where you can very well get your ass killed.”

In addition Fif talks Hollywood, feeding kids in Africa through Street King and much more. And 50 and Floyd break down their crew: The Money Team. “The Money Team is money, is power and is respect,” Floyd says. “It’s a lot of us. The team is, The Money Team is worldwide, and it’s growing. It’s growing each day.”

The fully loaded issue also includes stories with Common, Mac Miller and the new-age Bay Area rap scene, which shined bright nationally this year. There’s also a list of the 10 best books written by a rapper, an investigation on the battle between Uncle Sam and hip-hop’s finest, an interview with Drake, a Take Care review and then some.

XXL’s December/January 2012 issue hits newsstands nationwide on December 6. Check out XXLMag.com for extras from the special collector’s issue, including video and outtakes, as well as everyday hip-hop news and much more.—XXL Staff

The Money Team stops by to chop it up with Terrence J and Rosci without Ray-J. Honestly, I haven’t watched this and I probably won’t but I heard he said something about J. Cole and Hov.

Video: 50 Cent’s CNN Interview On Piers Morgan Tonight

by DG

Someone from the hip-hop world crosses over into mainstream or corporate America and staying grounded is something I love to see. How 50 Cent has been able to continue his success WITH braids is astonishing. If 50 can appear on CNN with cornrows than I still have a chance at the NBA, so I’m not mad at all.

New Music: Uncle Murda ft. Mariah Carey, 50 Cent & Young Jeezy – Warning (Remix)

by DG

Mariah Carey really took a picture with Uncle Murda? Is Nickelodeon Cannon out of his Eminem dissing mind? Does he not know what Uncle Murda and his dirty animal friends will do to Mariah’s glittery ass? Look at the expression on Nick’s face… he almost all the way drunk. When he walks in and sees Uncle Murda covering Mariah like that towel did on MTV Cribs he will sober up.

The Weekly Cinco: 50 Cent, 9th Wonder, Gilbere Forte, Phonte & Pusha T

by DG

What a great week in music! Cole dropped, 9th Wonder dropped and the boy DG got me on Phonte’s new album, so you can blame my laziness on those releases. I didn’t pay much attention to any other music but I still have 5. I could easily choose them all from Cole’s album but I’m keeping him out of it this week.  It’s going be a fast one because I have to get back to Phonte… let’s go.

1. Gilbere Forte ft Big K.R.I.T- Black Soul

Gilbere is a beast and will be a star. Krit is on a mission to bring southern music back to the game. Put these two together and you get a good song with that country black soul feel.

2.50 cent- Love, Hate, Love
Fifty is back!!! …well at least the bully of hip-hop is back; not one of the best songs 50 ever made. Actually just an average 50 track, but still a must listen too for the week. The reason being; the shots hes giving – including at Weezy F Baby (F is for Fifty dissed me) and the women’s pants he be rocking. Its bout time someone did!

3. 9th Wonder feat. Warren G, Murs & Kendrick Lamar- Enjoy
I heard this song just minutes after I made last weeks edition so it had already been signed, sealed an delivered. It was too late then so here it is now. Good riding music – including 9th wonder, Warren G (that’s right Warren G) and the young spitta Lamar. As the name of the track says… sit back and ENJOY.

4. Pusha T- Dont Fuck With Me
One of my favorite artist who is signed to one of my favorite artist (isn’t it ironic?). Pusha is a monster; straight kills Aubrey’s song. Sounds like it’s a diss song but I don’t exactly know who it’s directed to. Rumors say he’s taking shots at Drizzy but I’m not here to speculate or start rumors. So to whomever it to, I’m sorry. I wouldn’t mess with Pusha… 10/15/2011. G.O.O.D Music

5. Phonte- Charity Stars at Home the whole album
Still finishing the album as I type, so didn’t think it was fair for me to just choose one track without finishing the album at least three times over. Very soulful beats on a well put together album. I would like to give my boy DG some props for putting me on it. Without it, I’d still be listening to Cole World and wouldn’t have reviewed this Phonte for another two weeks. This album should definitely get some spin in your playlist. Listen….

Well that’s it… I have to get back to my Zen green tea an this Charity Stars.. Keep it Moving.
Till Next week. D-Lop

DG’s Extra: Childish Gambino – Bonfire

You may recognize him from playing Troy on the NBC sitcom, Community. He might be a comedian but when it comes to these raps, Gambino ain’t playing. I would describe as being a punch-line rapper but his bars are heavy. If you’re a fan of the ‘pre-gutair Wayne’ I suggest you give this a spin.

New Music: 50 Cent – Love, Hate, Love (Takin Shots At Game & Wayne)

by DG

Curtis is finally back on that fresh out of his granmama basement steeze. I feel like the game (no pun) needs a bully to come through and check people every once in a while.

50 Cent – Love, Hate, Love

“you said you was gone see me when yo homie got shot, its been a while so im guessin you musta forgot”

“aint this some sh*t, you forgot about me?, bi*ch i wrote yo hits”

“you know how we do hate it or love it, nigga im special that’s why yo ass say my verse”

“On the trip to the mall, they made your bi*ch ass plank”

“your actin like a white boy now your wanna jump down a flight of stairs on a skateboard n**** why the f*** ur pants so tight u wanna show your ass your alternative life”

Audio: 50 Cent Calls Into Funkmaster Flex Show

by J.Waves

Funk Flex was throwing jabs at a few people before Fif called up. Listen below.

Fabolous and Ray J allegedly fought 2 nights ago at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas but both sides told their story and had completely different tales of how it all went down. 50 Cent was there and watched it all happen, so IFWT got him on the phone to set the record straight! He also discusses speaking for the U.N., the Game calling him a closeted gay on Twitter and more. Listen to the exclusive interview below.
