Film: Uncle Luke’s Picture Selected For Sundace Festival
I’ve been making arrangements to attend Sundance Film Festival this year so maybe I can get some tickets for to view this. Sundance is a huge honor and if he wins his category he will most likely be nominated for an Oscar. Luke’s statement is below.
“It’s an honor to have a highly respected organization such as the Sundance Film Institute recognize me and my life as an important part of American culture by adding “The Life and Freaky Times of Uncle Luke” to their 2012 line up.”
Interview: Uncle Luke Goes On DJ Khaled’s Show to Address Wayne Situation
So after Luke wrote his article in the Miami Times about celebrities helping out in Miami, Wayne responded via twitter. Uncle Luke went on DJ Khaled’s 99 Jamz show to clear it up.
For now Elliot Wilson over at RR is holding the audio hostage so you can click here to listen.
Last week Uncle Luke had some choice words for the likes of Weezy, DJ Khaled, Diddy & other rappers that come through Miami via a blog posting.
“I’ve got a message for Lil Wayne, his Cash Money Brothers, DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy and all the rappers from other parts of the country who now live in Miami,” he wrote October 4th. “I’m tired of seeing these cats using up our beaches, soaking up our sunshine, taking over the nightclubs, and sleeping with our women without investing anything into the community. I want to know when Lil Wayne is going to do more than show up courtside at the American Airlines Arena. H*ll, it’s not like he paid for them anyway. You know he got comped. This free loading and mooching of my city has got to stop. There used to be a day when out of town rappers were scared to throw their weight around Miami. It didn’t matter if they were coming from New York or Los Angeles, they knew better than to act like they owned this mother f*cker.” (Miami New Times)
He then went on to issue a deadline for these rappers to pay up.
“I’m giving them a deadline. They got until January 1. If I don’t see them giving back to the Magic City, I’m gonna have their Miami cards revoked. They won’t be getting into any more nightclubs. They won’t be able to go near our women. And Lil Wayne is gonna have to find floor seats for New Orleans Hornets home games because he won’t be allowed inside the Triple A.” (Miami New Times)
Last night, after seeing Khaled tweet “Me uncle luke about to take over @99JAMZWEDR,” Wayne also took to twitter to say, “This Nigga Luke trippin!!! I ain’t feelin khaled rite now neither.” This will probably blow over but hopefully it doesn’t before someone has time to put this on wax.
