The 2011 NBA Playoffs are finally here and it’s set up to be a good one. The East bracket could have some of the best series since the early 2000′s. Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks should be a classic series as far as superstars go. In the West, the key matchups will be Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks vs. Portland Trailblazers.

The NBA will investigate Jay-Z’s visit with the Kentucky basketball team after Sunday’s 76-69 win against North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament East Regional Final, reports CBSSports.com’s Ken Berger.
Jay-Z, rapper and part-owner of the New Jersey Nets, might have violated NBA rules because Kentucky has multiple potential first-round draft picks on its roster.
Berger equates the incident to Celtics GM Danny Ainge sitting with Kevin Durant’s mother during the 2007 Big 12 tournament. Ainge and the Celtics were fined $30,000 for the infraction.

Towards the end of the video the announcer goes in on Jennings saying, “That’s what we call undressing, boy pull yo pants up.” The Bulls took the win over the Bucks and improved to 53-19 and moved 2-1/2 games over Boston in the East.

The Carmelo Anthony trade saga is finally over. The Nuggets traded Melo to the New York Knicks tonight, a league source said. Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors’ 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors’ 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash. Anthony will go to New York, along with Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman. Anthony was not at the Nuggets’ practice as the team resumed workouts following the All-Star break. A source said the Knicks will send Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota as part of the deal. Nuggets guard J.R. Smith said Monday after practice, after learning of the trade: “I mean, it’s just rebuilding first. We gotta go forward with what we got. And try to do the best we can in the playoffs.” When asked if there’s time this season to salvage a Nuggets playoff run, Smith said: “I think it is. Our backs have been up against the wall many times before.”
